Quitting the Smoking

Hello there, just wanted to update you all in my progress of quitting my smoke habit. It’s going well. I haven’t put myself on a prescription for Chantix yet, but have cut it down to less than 4 cigs a day. I find the slow weening is working well. There are some days that I’ll only smoke two and that feels great. I find that I have more energy and get up and go! Having a job helps too. It’s hard to excuse yourself while you’re making people’s food and coffee to go smoke. People do not approve of it. I’ve also taken up the E-cig.

It’s helped a lot with mimicking the ritual of putting something in my mouth and dragging. Not to get all Freudian on you, but I’m beginning to think I have a oral fixation of some sort. I like gnawing on stuff, eating, drinking, smoking and swearing. Go figure. But with the e-cig, I have my nicotine fix without the tar and smoke. I think it’s working out all right. Next time I blog about this, I hope to tell you all that I’ve quit. Cheer me on!
