*Natural Hair Documentary*

Charish and I are moving and shaking! We’ve decided to film a documentary on natural hair. Although Chris Rock’s “Good Hair” was groundbreaking, it failed to address a major area of Black hair—natural hair! We will begin filming at the first annual Northwest Ohio Natural Hair and Beauty Expo (October 15th 2011). From there we plan to do interviews, visit natural hair and general black hair salons, and consult and interview natural hair bloggers and youtubers to gain the widest range of perspectives. We are still deciding on a title for the documentary. A few ideas that we have are posted on a poll located on the left column of our blog homepage (this page). Please vote and help us to decide a title. This is a HUGE project! It will take lots of time, energy, and funds to complete. Here is where you all come in. Charish has set up our proposed plan for the documentary on kickstarter.com:

We will be reaching out to all of you for your thoughts as we proceed with this documentary ,but first things first. We will need funds for booth fees, camera equipment, editing software, and dvd production. Our goal is to make $3,000.00 dollars by September 11, 2011. We could really use our friends/family’s help and anyone else out there who feels passionate about natural hair.
Pledges can be as small as $1 or as large as $350. For any amount you donate to our film production, there is a reward for you. We’ll take great or small pledges, it’s all counted as amazing support from you.

**There is no pressure to make pledges or to take any part in this documentary. We are grateful for the support that you have already given us by becoming members of this blog.
