It Got Real In The Whole Foods Parking Lot

So, I went to the Whole Foods store today to pick up “a couple of things” and ended up getting much more than I planned for. I wanted some natural nail polish and nail polish remover and discovered that my beloved Whole Foods store also carried natural makeup and shaving supplies (that my husband could use). My, oh, my. Before I new it I had a cart full of stuff! Nail polish, nail polish remover, lipstick, foundation, blush, toothpaste, coconut oil, shaving cream, and after shave balm. All was well until I got the register and heard the ungodly amount I would have to dish up for my purchases. I took a “walk of shame” back to my vehicle and drove with a heavy heart home.

Now I LOVE buying natural products and eating natural and organic foods, but good earth why are things so expensive? Yes, I know that quality ingredients are used and farmers work night and day to produce their goods, but could you put them in bigger packages? Could you provide significant discounts? How about a free apple with every purchase? I’m just saying. I know that there are some people who could care less about buying natural, but there are many who do, but just plain can’t afford it. Hec, if my finances were just a fraction less I’d have to cut back myself. Since I’m not wealthy, I still have to shop relatively consciously when buying natural and organic foods and products. It really takes effort (and money) to live an environmentally conscious life. It’s hard out here for a natural! And I’m not talking hair.

  3. Suncoat. It's $8 a bottle. Online all the natural nail polishes were $14 and up. Crazy.
