Alas, summer is here! Us Midwesterners are putting away our winter scarves and coats and preparing to bask in sweet sunshine. I don’t know about you, but my haircare regimen changes slightly from season to season. In the summer I don’t need to put quite as much product in my hair (the humidity keeps my hair very moist and soft) and I tend to use more of my lighter (water-based) products. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I am going to be doing mostly protective styling this summer. I’m doing this for two reasons: 1- I could use a break from styling and hair maintenance and 2- I want to promote hair growth. I’m still going to deep condition and wash my hair each week, but there will be much less styling after that.
My three primary hairstyles will be buns, mini-twists, and wigs. Yes WIGS! I feel that I should add a disclaimer here. I am not wearing a wig because I am embarrassed of my natural hair or because I desire added length (my straight hair wig will actually be shorter than my own hair). I am wearing wigs solely for the purpose of protective styling. Moving on. I only plan on having two wigs- a curly and a straight-haired wig. Below is a picture of the curly-haired wig that I bought recently. I cut and styled the wig to resemble my own hair when worn in a twistout. In my opinion, the wig is strikingly close to my own hair!
I still need to work on the front of the wig a little. I also have some headbands that would look cute with this hair. I’m excited. It’s fun to be able to switch things up. I’ll be back soon with information on all-natural hair and body products for the summer!
Later babes,
Evelyn

Thank you! I didn't really know what I was doing so I'm glad it turned out okay! I can't wait for the hair to dull out a little and not be so shiny, lol.
