Hair Daze

Hey! I wanted to share with you all what has been going on with my hair lately. In the midst of finals week I had the nerve to attempt mini-twists, which was just crazy! I quickly realized I did not have time to make my twists super small like I did before so I made them a little bigger. First I did an overnight deep treatment (Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque mixed with 1tbsp of olive oil and 1tbsp of honey), then I co-washed with Aubrey GPB. I wanted to do a cleansing rinse, but realized that I did not have any apple cider vinegar so I decided to do a BEER RINSE! Yes, I poured a can of beer over my head! Flat beer is rumored to add shine, moisture, and body to your hair. I used a cheap, flat beer (Big Flats) for my rinse. Once I washed the beer out, the smell was gone. It did not dry my hair out at all, my hair felt as soft as it usually does. I think I will use the rinse every so often:)

Anyway, I let my hair dry about 80 percent of the way, then blow dried it in sections using Grapeseed oil as a heat protectant. After blow drying, I began small-to-medium sized twists. I used my Whipped Shea Butter Mix as a styler. Here are some pics:

Pic below: the back of my pinned up twists (I need a line-up, hubby where are you! lol)

I plan to keep the twists in for two weeks. I will likely do this style twice more this summer. It’s a great protective style and according to PrettyDimples01 from Youtube, this style has aided in hair growth. Bye now! 😉

  1. Quite interesting rinse, using the flat beer.

  2. I know right! At first I was like, huh, what, beer? But I must say it wasn't bad. I'm not sure that it had any super special effects, but it didn't have any negative effects either. When I had permed hair I would have never thought of using all of the foods and beverages in my hair that I have used since I've been natural! Lol.
